Articles of Faith

The articles offered here, are not a strict creed in any traditionally expressed way. They compliment the Philosophy of Ministry given elsewhere on this site. The Articles of Faith are a reflection of this ministry work, and are not meant to violate the views of others with conflicting ideas or beliefs. They are flexible enough in wording and multi-dynamic in religious and philosophical scope to reflect the many differences in people, and the embracing of varied points of view in this ministry work. It is also a living document, and forms in concert with the Philosophy of Ministry part of the foundation for this work. The articles can change only when good and sufficient reasoning (discernment) dictates a shift in consciousness. They are offered here for your consideration:

• The primary article in this ministry is that Deity exists. Deity is seen through many eyes, hearts and ears of those who accept the divine presence. The concepts of Deity are embraced through various and multiple traditions, creeds, beliefs, names, forms of existence, and other value systems.

• Those without the knowledge or acceptance of Deity’s existence, are not lost or abandoned by Deity. They are merely on a different path of discovery.

• All people are the creation of the love of Deity.

• Being in touch with Spirit, is seen as the relationship between the divine and those who embrace the existence of Deity.

• The various gifts of Deity (speaking in tongues, healing, prophetic speech, and so forth) are seen by some – though not all, as manifestations of the divine.

• Worship of Deity strengthens the life of the worshiper.

• The search for Deity begins with faith.

• The search for truth begins with a burning desire to attain it.

• Deity is the source of all truth.

• The quest for truth is on-going, changes over time, and ends only when the seeker is satisfied.

• Belief is not truth. It is a statement (or series of statements) taken as substituted fact in the heart of the believer when the truth of a matter is yet to be discovered.

• The simpleness of nature provides clues to how we should live and treat each other.

• We as a collective humanity and individually are responsible for our successes and failures, growth and stagnation, happiness and discontentment. To blame anything or anyone outside of ourselves for these things, denies our inherent personal power given to us by Deity.

• Religion, which should not be an end in itself, is a tool for spiritual growth. Each religion is a different path, but all serve the same ultimate purpose… unification with Deity.

• Sin is a human construct from religious belief.

• Communion with Deity and a desire to do right, frees us from fear of wrongdoing in our lives.

• All scriptures of all the world religions, and all the ideas of the great philosophers, carry the seeds of wisdom for the world.

• The path of peace is greater and more excellent than a path of war in achieving harmony, understanding, and coexistence between peoples.

• The freedom for all to worship in their own way is of absolute importance to spiritual growth and harmony of the whole of  humanity.

• The sacraments common to most churches in and of any form are honored and embraced: Communion, Reconciliation, Marriage, Ordination, Ministry of the Sick (Last Rites), and Baptism.

• To Baptism, it is a recognized entrance to a life long connection with Deity, regardless of the religious origin.

• The spiritual link is forged most strongly between the divine and the baptized.

• Trust in the one supreme universal presence is the great bond between the divine and humanity.
